Digital Photography II expands on the lessons discussed in brief in Digital Photography I, with more emphasis on putting it all together so students feel comfortable using manual settings on their cameras to attain the exact results they want. Advanced exposure techniques, mastering depth of field, white balance, lighting, and other techniques will be discussed in more detail. More time will also be spent on the other half of photography, the cataloging, editing, and printing of photographs, using Lightroom and Photoshop for examples.

This class is suitable only for those students with DSLR cameras or other cameras with fully manual aperture & shutter speed settings. Students should bring their equipment for picture-taking exercises during the workshop.

Those taking Digital Photography I on August 27, should take time to practice and perfect skills learned in that workshop before signing up for Digital Photography Workshop II.

Kevin Q. Gray is a fine art photographer living in upstate New York. His work spans digital, film, and alternative photographic processes such as dry-plate tintypes, wet-plate photography, and emulsion lifts. He received a BFA in Photography and Painting from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, and an MFA in Visual Arts from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. Much of Kevin’s work is based on nature and the landscape, but he also creates work that explores notions of nostalgia, memory, and history. Kevin lives in Cherry Valley with his wife and a myriad of domesticated animals.
