Back by popular demand! Photographer Kevin Q. Gray leads participants through all of the basic (and not so basic) functions of today’s digital cameras. Shutter speeds, apertures, ISO, file formats, lenses, filters and much more will be discussed. Gray will talk on compositional skills, making sure that what the participant envisions in their mind is what comes true through the camera lens.

Workshop also includes an outdoor ‘photo safari’ in Roxbury (weather permitting) and a brief discussion of photo editing software. This workshop is best suited to those participants who own a digital SLR camera with interchangeable lenses, or an advanced point-and-shoot camera with manual shutter and aperture modes.

Kevin Q. Gray is a fine art photographer living in upstate New York. His work spans digital, film, and alternative photographic processes such as dry-plate tintypes, wet-plate photography, and emulsion lifts. He received a BFA in Photography and Painting from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, and an MFA in Visual Arts from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. Much of Kevin’s work is based on nature and the landscape, but he also creates work that explores notions of nostalgia, memory, and history. Kevin lives in Cherry Valley with his wife and a myriad of domesticated animals.
