About the Artist:
Lisbeth Firmin has been teaching both painting and printmaking at Castle Hill, Truro Center for the Arts in Cape Cod every summer for the last ten years. And for the last nine years, Firmin has been teaching a Master Drawing class for incoming graduates at the University of North Carolina School for the Arts. In 2006 she was asked by the School of Visual Arts in NYC to set up a new monoprint workshop at their summer campus in the Berkshires. That same year Firmin also set up a complete monoprint printshop for international art colonists at ArtOMI, in Omi, NY. She has also taught painting and monoprinting at Great River Arts Institute in Bellows Falls, VT. Firmin is an accredited teacher for Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, and was trained by Dr. Betty Edwards herself.

Being self-taught, Firmin’s teaching methods embrace a bold approach toward the physical act of making paintings and prints, encouraging both professional and beginner students to find their unique way of seeing. She has the ability to take the mystery and stress out of ‘being creative,’ letting students unleash the sheer energy and joy of making art.
