Free and open to the Community
Young at Art, an exhibit in the Walt Meade Gallery of the Roxbury Arts Center, is designed reach children at their eye level, creativity level, and excitement level. And in an effort to create a positive experience for children at what may be their first gallery experience, artists and Roxbury Arts Group staff have worked collaboratively to create an exhibit that welcomes touching, vocalizing excitement, and adding to the works displayed on the walls.
In addition to the exhibit, Creation Stations will be set up in our gallery throughout the exhibit which will featuring a new art activity each week as well as opportunities for free-choice exploration of creativity.
Participating artists include Lou D’Amico, Elaine Grandy, Gary Mayer, Rachel Polens, D. Michael Price, Tina Psoinos, Sarah E. Swist & Kevin R. Mercer, Nat Thomas, and Ian Webster.
Children and their adult guests are invited to join us for the opening reception on Saturday, January 21 at 11:00a which will feature age-appropriate refreshments for our littlest guests.
