September 2 – DEC Grant Information Session: Treadwell

DEC Grant Information Session: Treadwell
Friday, September 2, 5:00p
at the Bright Hill Literacy Center
94 Church St
Treadwell NY
Free – please RSVP by email or call 607.326.7908

The arts are fundamental to our humanity. They ennoble and inspire us—fostering creativity, goodness, and beauty. The arts help us express our values, build bridges between cultures, and bring us together regardless of ethnicity, religion, or age. When times are tough, art is salve for the ache. Studies have shown that the arts improve students’ success rate in school, strengthen the economy, drive tourism, improve healthcare, and sparks creativity and innovation. This DEC Grant Program empowers communities, community members, artists and educators to harness the power of the arts in their local towns, villages, hamlets, and schools.

The Roxbury Arts Group is proud to administer the Decentralization Grant Program (DEC), a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, in Delaware County. DEC funds are used to support projects in three areas: Community Arts, Arts Education, and Individual Artist.

Anyone interested in applying for a DEC Grant must attend an information session. In each information session, Community & Grants Coordinator Annie Schwed will review grant guidelines, review the grant process, highlight successful DEC Grant-Funded Projects, and provide tips for successful grant writing. All DEC Grant Information Sessions are free and open to the public.
