The “Veiled and Revealed” exhibit will be on display at The Roxbury Arts Center at 5025 Vega Mountain Rd, Roxbury from May 14, 2022 through June 24, 2022. An Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm when members of the public are invited to attend, meet the artists, and learn more about their work. The Artist Reception and visits to the Walt Meade Gallery are always free and open to all. Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup presents “A, My Name Is…”

Roxbury Arts Center 5025 Vega Mountain Road, Roxbury

A, My Name Is… playfully explores memory and forgetting, incorporating choreographic fragments and gestures based on memories of heightened experiences. Inspired by the phenomenon of gravity, the piece is set in a space littered with fallen apples. The vocabulary in this dance grows in the same way as one’s language skills develop over time. Choreographer Stefanie Nelson says, “This work is a reflection on aging and disappearing in relation to memory, movement, words, thoughts, and it investigates physical notions of gravity, repetition, disappearance/presence.” An audience discussion moderated by local community health advocate Diana Mason, PhD, RN will follow the performance.…
