Storytelling Workshop with Quinn Christopherson
October 6 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Learn songwriting and storytelling techniques from Ahtna Athabascan and Iñupiaq songwriter,Quinn Christopherson . Quinn was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska where storytelling and music were vehicles by which his family shared their care and their culture. His songwriting is informed by this tradition as well as his personal journey, resulting in music which is authentic, well crafted and often moving.
Of this workshop offering Quinn says:
“When it comes to songwriting, there’s plenty of formulas, conventions, and scripts you can follow. Throw all of that out the window while having an in-the-round discussion of how to break rules, write to your strengths, and forget anything else that disrupts your artistic process. We’ll also explore taking control of your narrative and using songwriting as a tool. Writing can be a way to process emotions, heal from the past, and find empathy for older versions of yourself. Discover how storytelling through music can be empowering, transformative, and ultimately liberating.”
