Luminous Layers: An Introduction to Painting with Beeswax

Join us at the Headwaters Arts Center for an exciting introduction to working in encaustic mixed media painting with Regina Quinn! In this workshop, participants will learn the techniques of working in encaustic, creating texture and incorporating mixed media.
Combining the luminous materials, encaustic medium and beeswax with water colors and India ink, participants will learn to play with color and light to develop stunning imagery. Each participant will take home experimental pieces and samples, as well as a knowledge of basic techniques of working with encaustic that they can continue to explore!
About the Artist: Regina Quinn is a celebrated encaustic artist living in New York’s Northern Catskills. A New York City native, she has spent most of her adult life in the northern mountains which are a continuous source of inspiration. Her work is rooted in her deep connection to the natural world and sense of stewardship for the fragile balance that allows life to exist and thrive on this planet.
