eARTh Learners! An EcoArt Camp for Kids

Recurring event see all
$65

April 13, 2022 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

In partnership with the Catskill Center, this spring break camp offers kids an opportunity to learn about nature and create art in a collaborative setting, where they are encouraged to be their most inquisitive and curious selves!

This five-day workshop will feature activities focused on concepts of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and conservation of our natural surroundings and local ecosystem. Learners will gain an understanding of basic hiking safety and how to enjoy nature with minimal impact, reflecting on the concept of “Leave No Trace”.

Campers will learn how to produce art using natural materials. We will be going outside throughout the week to explore local sites in Stamford. During the activities, we will learn about soil, bodies of water, trees and plants, and the organisms that inhabit our ecosystem!

Kids will create nature walk journals, making notes on our discoveries and observations while collecting specimens from our surroundings. After gathering our materials, we will learn about artists who have been inspired by nature in their work and create our own projects!

Learners ages 9-14 are welcome!

Camp will run 10am to 2pm, Monday April 11th – Friday April 15th. We will have two snack breaks and lunch each day.

The cost for eARTh Learners! An EcoArt Camp for Kids is $65 for the five-day camp per child. Scholarships are available and pre-registration is required.

COVID protocols for this camp: No masks required. Social distancing indoors. COVID rapid tests will be available for children, before and during the camp, if desired or if symptoms appear.

Please send children with appropriate footwear and outdoor apparel for each day, as we will be going outside and likely getting a little muddy!
