Ready to have some fun? Creating a caricature of someone (or something) is an exercise in comedy and gross exaggeration. In this workshop artist Gary Mayer will lead students through several steps of caricature design. Participants will use pencil, ink, wire and more to explore the technique of producing their own pieces. Prerequisite for this workshop is an open mind and a sense of humor! Come have a good time!
Gary Mayer is well known for his courageous and bold paintings. Having been known to say that he has “never made it that far from childhood”, Gary brings that childlike heart to his work. Often creating pieces that are large in size and wild in design. Gary is a seasoned instructor having taught workshops in a variety of mediums. His work has hung in prestigious galleries from Detroit to New York City to right here in the Catskills.
